About the Department
The Department of Veterinary Technology is a new department recently introduced in Govt. Degree College Kupwara. The National Education Policy 2020 emphasizes skill-based courses to produce competent, job-ready students. Veterinary Technology is one of the departments that offer Skill courses to under graduate students, Dairy Technology is one of the Skill courses offered by the department of veterinary Technology, which focuses on practical training for milk processing, product manufacturing, value addition, packaging and quality control of milk products.

Vision: To become a leading centre for skill‑based training in dairy Technology, producing technically competent and job‑ready human resources for the organized dairy and food sectors in Jammu & Kashmir and beyond including self-employment and entrepreneurs.
Mission: Equip students with practical skills in clean milk production, milk processing, product development and testing for quality parameters like fat, SNF, acidity and adulterants and dairy business management for self-employment.
